House Resolution No. 252.
A resolution recognizing April 30, 2006, as Beta Sigma Phi Day and the week of April 23-30, 2006, as Beta Sigma Phi Week in the state of Michigan.
Whereas, The women of Beta Sigma Phi have throughout their lives shouldered the various responsibilities that life has put upon them, often without the support structure afforded by so many other groups; and
Whereas, These same women, each in their own stage of life, deserve the camaraderie of a supportive sisterhood as they work to redefine themselves as women with varying levels of responsibility to their family, work, and community; and
Whereas, Beta Sigma Phi, a non-political, non-sectarian organization dedicated to a variety of service, social, and cultural projects, has given more than two million dollars in financial support to a wide array of charitable and health research organizations; and
Whereas, Beta Sigma Phi, a service group, is also dedicated to the unity of sisterhood; now, therefore, be it
Resolved by the House of Representatives, That the members of this legislative body recognize April 30, 2006, as Beta Sigma Phi Day and the week of April 23-30, 2006, as Beta Sigma Phi Week in the state of Michigan; and be it further
Resolved, That we join with the women of Beta Sigma Phi and offer them our sincerest praise and support in their efforts.
