The Speaker, on behalf of the entire membership of the House of Representatives, offered the following resolution:
House Resolution No. 323.
A resolution for the Honorable Glenn Anderson.
Whereas, With the completion of the Ninety-third Legislature, Representative Glenn Anderson is bringing to a close his distinguished tenure of service as a member of the Michigan House of Representatives. We are proud to commend him for his many years of commitment to our state and to the legislative process; and
Whereas, Glenn Anderson came to Lansing following his 2000 election to the House with a wealth of experiences in civic affairs and local government. Throughout his many years living in Westland he worked for Ford Motor Company, where he was a proud member of the UAW, and also worked as a licensed realtor. He also volunteered his services as a member of the Westland Goodfellows and Westland Hockey Association. Representative Anderson also served on the Westland City Council and various local commissions; and
Whereas, Representative Anderson has articulated the concerns of his district and contributed to the development of legislation in many policy areas. His legislative work has included his service as the minority vice chair of the Transportation Committee, and as a member of the Insurance Committee. His legislative efforts have included legislation to protect the most vulnerable in society, such as the elderly in nursing homes, as well as legislation to protect working families and promote a healthy environment, among other areas; now, therefore, be it
Resolved by the House of Representatives, That we offer this expression of tribute to commend and thank the Honorable Glenn Anderson for his exemplary service to this legislative body and to our entire state; and be it further
Resolved, That a copy of this resolution be transmitted to Representative Anderson as evidence of our gratitude and best wishes.
