A SUMMARY OF HOUSE BILL 6608 AS INTRODUCED 11-06-08

In general, the Weights and Measures Act requires commodity sales in Michigan to conform to methods in the Uniform Regulation for the Method of Sale of Commodities published in the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Handbook 130, 2002 Edition.

The bill would exempt liquefied petroleum gas sold in Michigan from conforming with this regulation.  The buying and selling of liquefied petroleum gas could be conducted by the pound, gallon, metered cubic foot, or flat rate price, with the price rate clearly published and documented.
