Senate Bill 368 (as introduced 3-22-07)
Sponsor: Senator Tony Stamas
Committee: Local, Urban and State Affairs

Date Completed: 10-9-07

CONTENT
The bill would amend Chapter 14 of the Revised Statutes of 1846, "Of county officers", to require the inclusion of a notarized signature for the county treasurer and the chairperson of the county board of commissioners, the county controller, or the county clerk, in an order or resolution of the county board of commissioners authorizing the transfer of $10,000 or more from any county fund or account. This requirement would be in addition to the requirements of Section 40 and any other requirements provided by law.

(Section 40 requires the county treasurer to receive all money belonging to the county from any source. All money received by county treasurer for the use of the county may be paid by him or her only on the order of the board of supervisors, signed by their clerk, and countersigned by their chairperson, except when special provision for the payment is or must be otherwise made by law.)
