SUBSTITUTE FOR

SENATE BILL NO. 501

     A bill to amend 1994 PA 451, entitled

"Natural resources and environmental protection act,"

(MCL 324.101 to 324.90106) by adding section 8613.

THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT:

     Sec. 8613. (1) Beginning January 1, 2008, the department of

environmental quality shall post and maintain on its website a

booklet identifying environmental laws and rules that are of

particular significance for farms and farm operations.

     (2) The department of environmental quality and the department

of agriculture shall work cooperatively to develop reasonable

approaches to meeting the requirements of the laws identified

pursuant to subsection (1).
