SUBSTITUTE FOR

SENATE BILL NO. 1183

     A bill to amend 2001 PA 63, entitled

"History, arts, and libraries act,"

by amending section 2 (MCL 399.702), as amended by 2002 PA 508.

THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT:

     Sec. 2. As used in this act:

     (a) "Commission" means the Michigan film advisory commission

created in section 22.

(a) (b) "Council" means the Michigan council for arts and

cultural affairs established by Executive Order No. 1991-21.

(b) (c) "Department" means the department of history, arts,

and libraries created in section 3.

(c) (d) "Director" means the director of the department.

     (e) "Office" means the Michigan film office created in section

21.

(d) (f) "Person" means an individual, partnership,

corporation, association, governmental entity, or other legal

entity.

(e) (g) "Type II transfer" means that term as it is defined in

section 3 of the executive organization act of 1965, 1965 PA 380,

MCL 16.103.

     Enacting section 1. This amendatory act takes effect May 4,

2008.

     Enacting section 2. This amendatory act does not take effect

unless Senate Bill No. 1177 of the 94th Legislature is enacted into

law.
