HOUSE BILL No. 5501

     A bill to amend 1931 PA 328, entitled

 

"The Michigan penal code,"

 

(MCL 750.1 to 750.568) by adding section 423a.

 

THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT:

 

     Sec. 423a. (1) An officer or employee of the executive

 

department of this state who intentionally provides information

 

that he or she knows is false or misleading to any committee or

 

subcommittee of the legislature of this state is guilty of perjury

 

punishable by imprisonment for not more than 15 years.

 

     (2) Subsection (1) applies regardless of whether the

 

information is provided under oath.
