A bill to amend 1961 PA 236, entitled
"Revised judicature act of 1961,"
by amending section 5827 (MCL 600.5827).
THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT:
Sec. 5827. Except as otherwise expressly provided, the period
of limitations runs from the time the claim accrues. The claim
accrues
at the time provided in sections 5829 to 5838 , and or, in
cases
not covered by these sections the claim accrues at the time
the
wrong upon which the claim is based was done regardless of the
time
when damage results 5829 to
5838, when the plaintiff discovers
or through the exercise of reasonable diligence should have
discovered the elements of the cause of action, including the
identity of the defendant.
Enacting section 1. The provisions added by this amendatory
act apply to all causes of action that arise before, on, or after
the effective date of this amendatory act.
