A bill to amend 1967 PA 281, entitled
"Income tax act of 1967,"
(MCL 206.1 to 206.532) by adding section 474.
THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT:
Sec. 474. For the 2008 tax year and each tax year after the
2008 tax year, the department shall develop and make available a
software system that will offer free electronic filing to all
taxpayers required to file a return under this act or enter into an
agreement with tax preparation software companies or tax preparers
to provide comparable free filing for its state returns.
