House Resolution No. 473.
A resolution of tribute for the Honorable Brenda Clack.
Whereas, It is with great admiration for her commitment to the people of the Thirty-fourth District and the state of Michigan that we honor our colleague Representative Brenda Clack as her time in the House of Representatives comes to a close. For the last 6 years, she has been a tireless advocate for Michigan's working families and senior citizens in greater Flint and throughout Genesee County and our entire state; and
Whereas, Brenda Clack came to the House of Representatives after decades of commitment to Michigan's young people. Representative Clack earned a bachelor's degree from Tennessee State University and pursued postgraduate studies at Eastern Michigan University. She dedicated over 30 years of her life to teaching high school history and economics, earning statewide recognition and awards for her teaching. In addition, she has also served as an active member of the United Teachers of Flint Union and the Michigan Educational Association; and
Whereas, Representative Clack continued to display her passion for education and improving life for Michigan's families and children as a member of the House of Representatives. She has served as chair of the Families and Children's Services Committee and a member of the Education, Health Policy, New Economy and Quality of Life, and Senior Health, Security and Retirement Committees. Her steadfast efforts have contributed greatly to the work of this legislative body and are appreciated by her colleagues; now, therefore, be it
Resolved by the House of Representatives, That we thank the Honorable Brenda Clack for her years of service to the Michigan Legislature and the people of Michigan; and be it further
Resolved, That copies of this resolution be transmitted to Representative Clack as evidence of our gratitude and best wishes.
