A resolution of tribute for the Honorable Judy Emmons.
Whereas, The members of this legislative body are proud to commend Representative Judy Emmons and to thank her for her notable contributions to the legislative process over the past 6 years. Her tenure in the House has been marked by the same diligence that has marked all aspects of her life, and her involvement in several issue areas has been invaluable in addressing the state's needs; and
Whereas, Judy Emmons, who operates a registered Holstein dairy farm with her husband, brought unique insights to Lansing following her election in 2002. In addition to her wide-ranging experiences with the challenges of agriculture, she came to the Capitol with a strong background in education, including service through the Montcalm Intermediate School District Board of Education, as a member of the Michigan Teacher Tenure Commission, and with the Central Montcalm Board of Education; and
Whereas, Representative Emmons' legislative focus has included her work on bills dealing with education, including higher education and career preparation, insurance, and consumer protection measures. Her committee responsibilities have not only addressed these issue areas, but also the Military and Veterans Affairs and Homeland Security Committee and the Great Lakes and Environment Committee; now, therefore, be it
Resolved by the House of Representatives, That we honor and thank Representative Judy Emmons as she brings to a close her 6 years of distinguished service as a lawmaker; and be it further
Resolved, That copies of this resolution be transmitted to Representative Emmons as evidence of our gratitude and best wishes.
