A SUMMARY OF HOUSE BILL 4722 AS REPORTED FROM COMMITTEE
The bill would require the Department of Management and Budget to develop and operate a searchable website accessible at no cost to the public and to include:
o Fiscal year-to-date expenditures by department and category.
o The number of active employees by department and job classification.
o A listing of state contracts.
o The executive budget.
o The comprehensive annual financial report, the constitutional revenue limit report, the constitutional local spending requirements report, annual work projects report, detailed financial schedules, and monthly financial reports.
o The annual workforce report.
o Job specifications and wage rates,
The bill does not require disclosure of confidential information under state or federal law.
The bill amends the Management and Budget Act (MCL 18.1447)
FISCAL IMPACT:
House Bill 4722 would have no significant fiscal impact on the State of Michigan. According to the Department of Management and Budget, the bill would require no increase in costs to the state because the required website could be operated and maintained within the existing budget and staffing.
