House Bill 6374 (as reported without amendment)
Sponsor: Representative Pam Byrnes
House Committee: Regulatory Reform
Senate Committee: Economic Development and Regulatory Reform

CONTENT
The bill would amend Article 20 (Architects, Engineers, and Land Surveyors) to require the completion of a program of continuing education for renewal of a license.

Currently, Article 20 requires a demonstration of continuing professional competence for renewal of license. Under the bill, beginning with the license cycle after rules were promulgated under it, renewal of a license under Article 20 would require a demonstration of the completion of a program of continuing education.

The Department of Energy, Labor, and Economic Growth by rule would have to establish a program of continuing education for all Article 20 licensees.
