     A bill to amend 1980 PA 299, entitled

"Occupational code,"

by amending section 2009 (MCL 339.2009), as amended by 1988 PA 463.

THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT:

     Sec. 2009. (1) A Beginning the license cycle after the

effective date of the rules promulgated under subsection (2), a

demonstration of continuing professional competence the completion

of a program of continuing education shall be required for renewal

of a license issued under this article.

     (2) The department shall, by rule, establish a program of

continuing education for all licensees under this article.
