House Bill 5452 (as reported without amendment)

Sponsor:  Representative Bruce R. Rendon

CONTENT

The bill would repeal Section 48501 of the Natural Resources and Environmental Protection Act, which prohibits a person from spear fishing in Houghton Lake, Roscommon County.  A violation of the prohibition is punishable by a fine of at least $10 but not more than $100, and/or imprisonment for at least 10 days but not more than 90 days.

FISCAL IMPACT

The bill would have negligible fiscal impact on State and local government.  If the prohibition were repealed, revenue from fines between $10 and $100, and the cost of imprisonment from 10 to 90 days, would no longer be applicable.
