A bill to amend 1972 PA 239, entitled
"McCauley-Traxler-Law-Bowman-McNeely lottery act,"
(MCL 432.1 to 432.47) by adding section 32b.
THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT:
Sec. 32b. (1) If the bureau is required to withhold federal or
state income taxes from a prize and if the winner of the prize
resides in a city that has adopted an ordinance imposing a tax on
the income of residents under the city income tax act, 1964 PA 284,
MCL 141.501 to 141.787, the bureau shall withhold from the prize an
amount computed by applying the rate set by the city ordinance to
be levied on the income of residents at the time the prize was won.
(2) The bureau shall immediately transfer the amount withheld
under subsection (1) to the city.
