A bill to amend 1976 PA 451, entitled
"The revised school code,"
(MCL 380.1 to 380.1852) by adding section 16.
THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT:
Sec. 16. On the next business day after January 1 and July 1
of each year, the department shall submit a school status report to
the standing committees and appropriations subcommittees of the
senate and house of representatives that have jurisdiction over
education and state school aid. The report shall identify all
public schools that have opened and all public schools that have
closed during the immediately preceding 6-month period.
