SUMMARY:
House Bill 5493 would amend the Community Center Act to provide that the governing body of the village or township will determine by resolution the compensation of the board of directors of a community center.
Currently under the law, members of the community boards of directors may not receive compensation.
MCL 123.43.
FISCAL IMPACT:
House Bill 5493 would increase costs for villages and townships where the governing body of the village or township chose to provide compensation to the board of directors of the community center. Current law provides that the directors shall serve without compensation.
