A bill to amend 1931 PA 328, entitled
"The Michigan penal code,"
by amending section 347 (MCL 750.347).
THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT:
Sec.
347. Exhibition of deformed human beings, etc.—Any A
physician
or other person , who shall
expose or keep on exhibition
exposes
or exhibits any deformed human
being or human monstrosity,
who is disabled or disfigured, except as used for scientific
purposes before members of the medical profession or medical
classes,
shall be is guilty of a misdemeanor punishable by
imprisonment for not more than 90 days or a fine of not more than
$500.00,
or both. Any person who shall so
expose or exhibit in
museums
or elsewhere diseased or deformed human bodies, or parts
thereof,
or representations of the same, which would be indecent in
the
case of a living person, except as used for scientific purposes
before
members of the medical profession or medical classes, shall
be
guilty of a misdemeanor.
Enacting section 1. This amendatory act takes effect 90 days
after the date it is enacted into law.
