     A bill to amend 1931 PA 328, entitled

 

"The Michigan penal code,"

 

by amending section 221 (MCL 750.221).

 

THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT:

 

     Sec. 221. Falsely representing self as blind, etc.—Any A

 

person who shall not falsely represent himself or herself as blind,

 

deaf, dumb, crippled or physically defective [deaf, deafblind], or

 

hard of hearing or as a person who has a disability for the purpose

 

of obtaining money or any other thing anything of value. , and any

 

A person thus falsely representing himself or herself as blind,

 

deaf, dumb, crippled or otherwise physically defective, and

 

securing aid or assistance on account of such representation, shall

 

be who violates this section is guilty of a misdemeanor punishable

 

by imprisonment for not more than 90 days or a fine of not more

 


than $500.00, or both.

 

     Enacting section 1. This amendatory act takes effect 90 days

 

after the date it is enacted into law.
