Rev. Robert Holwerda, Retired Pastor of 1st Hudsonville Christian Reformed Church in Hudsonville, offered the following invocation:
“Dear Heavenly Father, we thank You for inviting us to bring our needs and desires to the THRONE OF GRACE FOR HELP AND HOPE!
Thank You God for the many, many blessings You have given to our State: its Leadership from the Governor and his team, its citizens, charitable organizations, Public and Private Schools from Kindergarten through College and University and their respective teaching Staffs. Thank You for blessing us with numerous businesses, industry which give us the opportunity to work and make a decent living.
Thank You for the abundance of Hospitals and necessary staff of qualified personnel Doctors, Nurses, Specialists, and maintenance personnel.
Thank You for those who place their life in the line of danger for our safety; The firemen and women and Police Departments and National Guard! Place Your guardian Hand around each and all!
Before we were serving our State, we thought what an easy job to do. Today reality has set in as our eyes have been opened and the massiveness of needs almost overwhelm us. The needs will not just go away by themselves! Oh, it is easy to talk about the need but we need courage and wisdom Lord! We need to recognize that to just talk doesn’t answer our need. We need courage to find the best answer. With Your help and daily blessings we will be able. God, grant us grace in abundance! AMEN!”

Enclosed is a copy of the 2013 - 2014 Concealed Pistol License Annual Report as required by Public Act 372 of 1927, as amended. This report details the concealed pistol license activity between July 1, 2013, and June 30, 2014.
Below is a summary of the activity since the statutes required yearly reporting:
Year Applications Received Total Approved # of Criminal Violations
2001-2002 62,902 53,000 92

2013-2014 115,601 115,990 4,421
As with last year, a comparison report was compiled matching criminal history information with concealed pistol license holders. This information was provided to all of the counties for verification. If the counties failed to verify, the information was still included in the report. The report includes a notation on which counties failed to verify.
The number of approved applications for this reporting period is higher than the number of applications received due to the high volume of pending applications at the end of the 2012-2013 reporting period. Many counties had a backlog in processing their incoming applications at that time, but have since reduced their backlog.
If you have any questions regarding the information in this report, please feel free to contact the Michigan State Police, Concealed Pistol License Unit at (517) 241-1917.
Sincerely,
Col. Kriste Kibbey Etue
