Pastor Greg Bullen, Asst. Pastor of Calvary Bible Church in Lapeer, offered the following invocation:

“Dear Lord: We stand before You today, humbled by Your wonderful blessings and the provision You make for us day by day. We thank You that You have allowed us to live in this great country and to work and play and raise our families in the beautiful state of Michigan.

I ask Your continued blessing and guidance to the men and women here in the Michigan House of Representatives. We know that leading our state, serving our families, and seeking the very best in legislation can be challenging, and we pray for the strength and wisdom they need to best serve our economy, our towns and cities, and our farms as well. We do know that without You, we can do nothing.

As we build on the past and seek solutions to present needs, may You grant each individual a vision for a bright and hopeful future. I pray that You would bless this session and that these men and women would follow the Golden Rule and serve together with mutual respect for the common good, no matter their background and political beliefs.

In Your name we pray, Amen.”
