Lord, we live in difficult and divisive times, and You have appointed these men and women for such a time as this to serve here. Thank You. The Senate needs Your wisdom, it needs Your courage, it needs Your integrity, Your patience, and Your strength, so grant that, O Father. Lord, teach us to listen to each other, especially to listen to those with whom we disagree. It seems our society has lost that ability. We tend to villainize the other side. Lord, forgive us; have mercy.

Enable the men and women of this Senate to demonstrate a reasonableness with one another that would be a model to all citizens. That is sometimes difficult when we disagree, but grant us that help, O God. There is a degree of sacrifice that many of them experience. For those who have families, Lord, bless them, bless their spouses, bless their children, and protect them. In their inner being, in their inner life, and their private world, grant them integrity. Help them to keep the good of others before one’s personal gain, which is always the real challenge. Thank You, O Lord, for knowing each one. Thank You for the help that You have available. Accomplish Your good will here within this group, and bless them.

In the name of our Savior, the One who truly understands servanthood, the One who gave His life for us. Amen.

The House of Representatives has amended the Senate substitute (S-2) as follows:

1. Amend page 3, line 6, after “PROPERTY” by striking out “AT THE TIME” and inserting “ON THE TAX DAY FOR THE YEAR IN WHICH”.

2. Amend page 3, line 9, after “PROPERTY” by striking out “AT THE TIME” and inserting “ON THE TAX DAY FOR THE YEAR IN WHICH”.

3. Amend page 3, line 22, after “PROPERTY” by striking out “AT THE TIME THE UNPAID TAX BECAME DUE” and inserting “ON THE TAX DAY FOR THE YEAR IN WHICH THE UNPAID TAX WAS LEVIED”.

The House of Representatives has concurred in the Senate substitute (S-2) as amended and agreed to the full title.

Pending the order that, under rule 3.202, the bill be laid over one day,
