House Resolution No. 251.
A resolution to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the founding of the County Road Association of Michigan.
Whereas, In February 2018, the County Road Association (CRA) of Michigan will celebrate its 100th anniversary. Over the course of the last century, the people of the state of Michigan have greatly benefited from CRA’s role as a credible, unified, and effective voice for a safe and efficient county transportation infrastructure system in Michigan; and
Whereas, The County Road Association of Michigan was founded on February 28, 1918, in Ann Arbor. CRA’s county road agency members have shown steady progress over the last century including adapting innovative technologies and efficient operations, improving the safety of roads for Michigan residents, and collaborating with townships, municipalities and other infrastructure stakeholders as regional governmental partners for the improvement of Michigan’s county road system; and
Whereas, CRA fosters relationships between its members, the Legislature, other local government associations, and various Michigan infrastructure and transportation organizations. The Association also provides educational trainings to ensure that county road agencies are always on the cutting-edge; and
Whereas, Since its inception, CRA has remained steadfastly committed to helping Michigan’s road agencies provide Michigan residents with a safe local road and bridge network; now, therefore, be it
Resolved by the House of Representatives, That the members of this legislative body commemorate the 100th anniversary of the founding of the County Road Association of Michigan. We honor the contributions the organization has made to the state of Michigan and offer best wishes for continued success in the future; and be it further
Resolved, That a copy of this tribute be transmitted to Steven A. Warren, President of the County Road Association of Michigan, as evidence of the esteem of this legislative body.
