Senator Meekhof offered the following resolution:

            Senate Resolution No. 206.

            A resolution of tribute for the Honorable David B. Robertson.

            Whereas, It is a pleasure for the members of this legislative body to extend our appreciation to Senator David Robertson for his tremendous work. He ably served the Senate, his district residents in Genesee and Oakland counties, and the entire state; and

            Whereas, David Robertson received a bachelor’s degree in political science and history from the University of Michigan-Flint and has worked in the insurance industry. His public service includes time as a Genesee County Commissioner and four terms of office in the House of Representatives. Also active in the community, he has done work with the Grand Blanc Rotary Club and local chambers of commerce, among other endeavors; and

            Whereas, In his two terms and eight years of service in this chamber beginning in 2011, Senator Robertson has worked toward the betterment of the state. His leadership was illustrated as chair of the Local Government and Elections Committee and the Elections and Government Reform Committee. He also served on the Health Policy and Finance committees as vice chair, and was a member of the Insurance; Reforms, Restructuring, and Reinventing; Natural Resources; and Michigan Competitiveness committees. He contributed heavily to policy matters involving elections and campaign finance. Additionally, he tackled a wide swath of legislation dealing with other important matters such as taxation and economic development; now, therefore, be it

            Resolved by the Senate, That we offer this expression of tribute to commend and thank the Honorable David B. Robertson for his notable contributions to this legislative body and to our state; and be it further

            Resolved, That copies of this resolution be transmitted to Senator Robertson as evidence of our gratitude and best wishes.
