CONTENT

 

The bill would amend the Michigan Election Law to prohibit a city or township from providing prepaid postage on an absent voter ballot return envelope and to prohibit the Secretary of State from providing funding or reimbursing a city or township for prepaid postage on an absent voter ballot return envelope.

FISCAL IMPACT

 

The bill would have no fiscal impact on State or local units of government. According to the Department of State, the State does not reimburse local units of government for any postage costs related to absentee ballot applications or ballots.
