Substitute For
HOUSE BILL NO. 4052
The people of the state of michigan enact:
Sec. 1. (1) Except as otherwise provided in subsection (3), if the United States Congress amends 15 USC 260a to authorize states to observe daylight saving time year-round, the official time followed by this state and all of its political subdivisions in the part of this state that is in the Eastern Standard Time zone and in the part of this state that is in the Central Standard Time zone shall be daylight saving time.
(2) Except as otherwise provided in subsection (3), the time change described in subsection (1) takes effect only if all of the following states observe daylight saving time year-round:
(a) Wisconsin.
(b) Illinois.
(c) Indiana.
(d) Ohio.
(e) Pennsylvania.
(3) If the United States Congress amends 15 USC 260a to eliminate daylight saving time, the official time followed by this state and all of its political subdivisions in the part of this state that is in the Eastern Standard Time zone and in the part of this state that is in the Central Standard Time zone shall be year-round standard time or that time as otherwise provided by federal law.
Enacting section 1. This act takes effect 90 days after the date it is enacted into law.
