A bill to amend 1954 PA 116, entitled

"Michigan election law,"

(MCL 168.1 to 168.992) by adding section 685a.

the people of the state of michigan enact:

Sec. 685a. If a state political party is qualified to have the names of its candidates printed in a separate party column on each election ballot and that state political party is affiliated with a national political party that changes its name, the state political party may change its name to the same name as the national political party if the state political party files the name change with the secretary of state.
