A bill to amend 1961 PA 236, entitled

"Revised judicature act of 1961,"

(MCL 600.101 to 600.9947) by adding section 1429.

the people of the state of michigan enact:

Sec. 1429. (1) Except as otherwise provided by law, a record in any court in this state must be open to the public and must not be redacted of an individual's name or date of birth.

(2) As used in this section, "record" means information of any kind that is recorded in any manner and has been created by the court or filed with a court in accordance with supreme court rules.
