The bill would amend the Michigan Memorial Highway Act to designate the portion of Highway M-11 in Kent County beginning at the intersection of Highway M-11 and 3 Mile Road and continuing south to the bridge on Highway M-11 over the Grand River as the "Korean War Veterans Memorial Drive".

Proposed MCL 250.1114

BRIEF RATIONALE

The Korean War was a conflict that claimed the lives of many Americans troops. Since the war was fought from 1950 to 1953, many of these surviving veterans are now elderly and deserve to be honored for their courage and sacrifice before they pass away. The bill should be passed to recognize their service.
