A bill to amend 1976 PA 451, entitled

"The revised school code,"

(MCL 380.1 to 380.1852) by adding section 1509.

the people of the state of michigan enact:

Sec. 1509. (1) The department, in consultation with the department of attorney general, shall develop and provide to school districts, intermediate school districts, and public school academies a notice containing information regarding section 213b of the Michigan penal code, 1931 PA 328, MCL 750.213b.

(2) School districts, intermediate school districts, and public school academies shall provide the notice described in subsection (1) to all of the following individuals:

(a) School personnel employed by or at a school operated by the school district, intermediate school district, or public school academy.

(b) Students enrolled in the school district, intermediate school district, or public school academy.

(c) Parents and legal guardians of the students described in subdivision (b).

(3) The board of a school district or intermediate school district or board of directors of a public school academy shall implement a policy to educate the individuals described in subsection (2) about section 213b of the Michigan penal code, 1931 PA 328, MCL 750.213b.

Enacting section 1. This amendatory act does not take effect unless Senate Bill No.____ or House Bill No. 5887 (request no. 06256'24) of the 102nd Legislature is enacted into law.
