Dear heavenly Father, we come before You humbly, thankful for the opportunity to serve in this chamber. We are thankful for this planet, for this country, for this state, and our respective communities. Today we ask You for wisdom, for humility, for kindness, and for a desire to do justice for Your people. Remind us, God, that we are ordinary men and women charged with an extraordinary job; and we ask You to give us the courage of our first responders, the compassion of our healthcare workers, and the heart of our state’s teachers. These blessings and others, we do ask and pray. Amen.
The President, Lieutenant Governor Gilchrist, led the members of the Senate in recital of the Pledge of Allegiance.

Ford day in the state of Michigan; and to designate July 30 of each year as Henry Ford day in the state of Michigan,” (MCL 435.301 to 435.303) by amending the title and by adding section 4.
